Add a Sender Policy Framework (SPF) TXT Record
What is an SPF Record? An SPF record is a line of plain text that includes a list of tags and values.
That’s the purpose of an SPF record: it tells recipient servers which mail systems are permitted to send mail for your domain, reducing the risk of messages being blocked or placed in spam.
SPF records help recipient servers verify that the sending mail server is authorized to send on behalf of your domain. Without a valid SPF record, your emails are more likely to be rejected or routed to spam. Configuring SPF properly improves both deliverability and security.
Whitelist Mail Servers & IP Address (this is optional)
If you are not receiving notification emails from StructuredWeb then whitelisting the StructuredWeb mail servers will ensure that your mail servers do not reject messages sent to your system. This can include Login Reset emails, form submission notifications, and any other automated email that the system generates.
Enable DMARC
DMARC functions by checking that both SPF and DKIM authentication pass and that the authenticated domain aligns with the sender’s address. If an incoming email fails these checks, DMARC instructs the receiving server on how to handle it—typically by rejecting or quarantining the message. Additionally, DMARC can generate reports that help domain owners monitor and respond to authentication failures.
The protocol serves three core purposes:
- To confirm that outbound emails are protected by both SPF and DKIM.
- To tell recipient servers how to respond if an email fails authentication.
- To enable recipient servers to send feedback reports on email authentication results.
When implemented alongside SPF and DKIM, DMARC creates a strong defense against email spoofing, phishing attacks, and unauthorized use of your domain—while significantly improving trust and deliverability.
